The Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) has announced the first wave of its candidates for the upcoming legislative elections, revealing a comprehensive list that covers nearly 90% of electoral constituencies. This announcement was made by Azzouz Senhaji, a member of the party's political bureau, during the Central Committee session held on July 11, 2026. The list includes candidates from 82 out of the 92 constituencies, with the remaining nominations postponed for organizational reasons, set to be finalized by the political bureau.
Key Candidates By Region
In the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma region, the PPS has nominated a diverse group of candidates that showcase local representation. Notable names include Dahmane El Mouzeriahi for Tanger-Assilah, Idriss Lazâar for M'diq-Fnideq, and Mohamed Boudra for Al Hoceïma, among others. Additional candidates for the Fahs-Anjra and Larache districts will be announced at a later date.
Moving to the Oriental region, candidates such as Ouafaa Tiji for Oujda-Angad and Fatima Zahra El Mahi for Berkane have been selected. The party has indicated that the nomination for Jerada will be disclosed soon.
In the Fès-Meknès area, prominent candidates include Ali Laqsab for Fès-Sud and Mohamed Bakhtaoui for Meknès. The party has committed to announcing candidates for Taounate-Tissa and other districts in the future.
Rabat-Salé-Kénitra has seen candidates like Rachid Sassi for Rabat-Océan and Larbi Hammari for Skhirate-Témara. The nominations for Salé Al Jadida and Salé Médina will be shared later.
In the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, Mariam Wahssat and Boubker Ikken are among those nominated, while the Casablanca-Settat region features a robust lineup, including Mohamed Benmoussa for Casablanca-Anfa and Adil Benbrahim for Mohammedia. Candidates for several constituencies within Casablanca will be revealed shortly.
Marrakech-Safi will see candidates like Ibrahim Himmi for Marrakech-Sidi Youssef Ben Ali and Othmane Mersi for Essaouira, with announcements for Al Haouz and Youssoufia pending.
In Drâa-Tafilalet, Saïd Akdad has been nominated for Ouarzazate, and the candidacy for Errachidia will be announced soon. The Souss-Massa region's candidates include Hassan Oumribet for Agadir-Ida Outanane, while the Guelmim-Oued Noun region has El Houcine Atouif for Guelmim and others, with nominations for Es-Smara and Laâyoune districts to be declared shortly.
