This week, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has officially commenced the operational deployment of two state-of-the-art smart patrol vehicles, named "Amane" and "Madar," in the streets of Rabat. These vehicles, equipped with cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies and entirely developed by Moroccan expertise, are set to expand their presence soon in major cities such as Casablanca and Tangier. This initiative aligns with DGSN's strategic vision to modernize its security fleet and enhance the quality of services provided to citizens.
Advanced Features of the "Amane" Smart Patrol Vehicle
The "Amane" patrol vehicle is an innovative model designed by the skilled engineers and technical experts of the DGSN. It features an integrated visual surveillance system supported by 360-degree cameras, which are connected in real-time to automatic license plate reading applications and instant facial recognition technology. Utilizing advanced AI models, the vehicle allows for immediate visual checks while on the road, ensuring swift and effective monitoring.
The data collected by the "Amane" is directly linked to command and coordination centers, as well as operational units. A large interface installed within the vehicle provides police officers with immediate access to essential information during their operations. According to the DGSN, these advanced capabilities are expected to play a vital role in traffic organization, regulation, and crime prevention.
The second smart patrol vehicle, "Madar," serves as a mobile surveillance platform, effectively transforming an ordinary vehicle into a high-tech security unit. Like "Amane," it employs similar AI algorithms and features an emergency lighting system designed through 3D printing technology, integrating multiple high-definition cameras that can accurately record fast-moving vehicles across six lanes simultaneously. Additionally, "Madar" is equipped with a panoramic central camera that can rotate fully in less than three seconds to cover blind spots, and a powerful signaling system that ensures optimal visibility during operations.
Both smart patrol vehicles boast a new visual identity aimed at enhancing their recognition in public spaces. They are also outfitted with geolocation systems and direct access to a central database through an integrated control terminal. The deployment of "Amane" and "Madar" follows the successful completion of initial development phases, field testing, and training of police teams assigned to these vehicles. The DGSN aims to bolster the operational readiness of its services and provide a security response that combines advanced technologies with community policing, particularly as Morocco prepares to host significant international events, including the 2030 World Cup in collaboration with Spain and Portugal.
