Strengthening Bilateral Relations between Morocco and the DRC
On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita welcomed Crispin Mbadu Phanzu, the Deputy Minister attached to the Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Mbadu Phanzu conveyed a significant message from President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo to His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Accompanying Mbadu Phanzu was Juliana Amato Lumumba, the DRC’s nominee for the Secretary-General position at the OIF and a member of the visiting delegation. She spoke passionately about the strong bonds of solidarity and friendship that characterize the relationship between the two nations. Lumumba made a poignant reference to her father, Patrice Émery Lumumba, who was honored by the late King Mohammed V, thereby highlighting the historical connections that enhance their ongoing diplomatic relations.
Moreover, Lumumba pointed out the shared perspectives between Morocco and the DRC regarding essential issues such as solidarity, unity, inclusiveness, and respect for sovereignty.
