Morocco Hosts Forum on Economic and Social Empowerment of Youth: A Focus on Entrepreneurship and Expertise Sharing

Empowering Youth Through Economic and Social Initiatives

The city of Casablanca recently served as the backdrop for the Morocco-Gulf Forum, dedicated to addressing the economic and social empowerment of youth. Organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication from July 13 to 15, 2026, this significant event saw active participation from youth delegations from Morocco and member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), alongside representatives from institutions specializing in employability, entrepreneurship, and social economy.

This forum aligns with broader initiatives aimed at strengthening inter-Arab cooperation concerning youth, facilitating the sharing of expertise and best practices in economic and social empowerment. In light of the rapid economic and social transformations occurring globally, this effort seeks to confront unprecedented challenges while opening up new opportunities. It emphasizes the necessity for innovative policies and approaches that enhance youth integration within the economic cycle.

Over one hundred young men and women, aged between 18 and 35, attended the forum, which provided a unique platform for dialogue and experience exchange focused on economic empowerment mechanisms. It also highlighted pioneering experiences in entrepreneurship and professional integration, fostering innovation and initiative among the youth.

The forum's agenda included an inaugural plenary session dedicated to examining the current state and future prospects of youth economic empowerment in Morocco and the Gulf countries. This session was followed by interactive roundtables that brought together participants and representatives from relevant institutions, alongside specialized workshops led by experts in entrepreneurship, crowdfunding, social enterprises, and solidarity economy.

Moreover, the forum presented an opportunity to showcase success stories and inspiring experiences from young talents across participating countries, promoting the sharing of best practices, encouraging an entrepreneurial spirit, and reinforcing cooperation among youth institutions and stakeholders. It aimed to enhance awareness of the strategic role of youth as key players in economic and social development, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute to innovative solutions for current challenges. The event also sought to encourage their engagement in building more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable development models.

By organizing this forum, Morocco and the GCC member states demonstrate their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation in youth-related domains. This is accomplished through the establishment of permanent frameworks for dialogue and expertise sharing, alongside supporting initiatives that create new economic integration prospects for youth and foster their active participation in sustainable development processes.
