Moroccan National Team Gears Up for 2026 World Cup Clash Against Brazil

Preparation for the 2026 World Cup Begins for Morocco

The Moroccan national football team has officially kicked off its training sessions at The Pingry School in New Jersey, USA, as they prepare to face off against Brazil in their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This highly anticipated tournament will take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026. The excitement is palpable among fans and players alike as the team aims to make a significant impact on the world stage.

During their first training session, notable players including Chamseddine Talbi, Noussair Mazraoui, and Anas Salah Eddine returned to group training. However, the team is still waiting on the status of Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, who is sidelined due to a knee injury sustained during a friendly match against Norway. The coaching staff is closely monitoring his recovery to determine his availability for the upcoming games.

The initial training session included physical recovery exercises in the gym, followed by technical ball drills aimed at regaining rhythm and readiness ahead of the more intensive stages of their preparation. The Moroccan team is expected to continue their training regimen on Wednesday and Thursday, culminating in their final session on Friday. This last practice will be partially open to the media for the first 15 minutes, after which the head coach will hold a press conference to discuss updates before the crucial match against Brazil.

Morocco's first game in the World Cup is set for Saturday, June 13, at 11:00 PM (local time) at MetLife Stadium in New York City, where they will face the Brazilian squad. Following this encounter, the Atlas Lions will play their second match against Scotland on Friday, June 19, also at 11:00 PM, taking place at the Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Finally, they will conclude their group stage matches against Haiti on Wednesday, June 24, again at 11:00 PM, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
