Marrakech Menara Airport Introduces 'Hospitality Village' During Hospitality Celebration Week

Marrakech Menara Airport Launches Unique 'Hospitality Village'

In a vibrant initiative aimed at enhancing the travel experience, Marrakech Menara Airport has unveiled a 'Hospitality Village' designed to immerse visitors in the warmth and richness of Moroccan hospitality from the moment they arrive. This initiative, which is part of the third edition of Hospitality Celebration Week, organized by the National Federation of Tourist Transport, seeks to elevate Morocco's image as an authentic, welcoming travel destination open to the world.

Situated at the entrance of Marrakech Menara International Airport, the Hospitality Village serves as a showcase for Morocco's skills in the art of hospitality. The program includes welcoming guests in the traditional Moroccan style, emphasizing local customs that reflect the deep-rooted tradition of hospitality in Morocco's rich cultural heritage. The atmosphere is marked by smiles, generosity, and a heartfelt reception, aligning with Morocco's renowned reputation in the hospitality sector.

The event also features cultural activities that highlight the wealth of Morocco's heritage, providing artistic performances and festive events that allow visitors to experience the vibrant cultural diversity of Morocco upon their arrival. Mohammed Bamnour, the president of the National Federation of Tourist Transport, emphasized in a statement to the Moroccan News Agency that Moroccan hospitality represents a true art of living, deeply embedded in the national culture. He noted that this value not only reflects Morocco's identity but also enhances the attractiveness of the tourist destination by offering a genuine human experience to visitors right from their arrival.

Moreover, the 'village' aims to raise awareness among industry professionals, particularly in the tourist transport sector, regarding the importance of improving the quality of the national tourism product. This is achieved through the development of skills and enhancing professionalism among various stakeholders who directly interact with travelers. He further indicated that this initiative embodies a collective will to enhance the quality of tourist reception and to solidify Marrakech's position as a key gateway for both national and international tourism. The timing of the third edition of Hospitality Celebration Week comes amidst positive growth in the tourism sector, which recorded approximately 20 million visitors in 2025, generating revenues of 138 billion dirhams and contributing over 7 percent to the national GDP.

In a similar statement, Hayat Cherdili, a manager of a tourist transport company, highlighted the pivotal role of this sector in promoting tourism, as it often serves as the first point of direct contact between the visitor and their destination upon arriving at the airport. She stressed that tourist transport significantly contributes to the visitor experience and enhances the tourism offering.

In Marrakech, the program for Hospitality Celebration Week includes key events, such as a roundtable discussion on "Understanding, Transmitting, and Valuing Moroccan Hospitality in Tourism and Service Professions," featuring experts and professionals. Additionally, a training course focused on hotel cleanliness service management offers practical approaches to professional standards and requirements.

This initiative is being launched across various regions of the kingdom by the National Confederation of Tourism, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social Economy, and Solidarity, and in coordination with professional federations and regional stakeholders. The theme for this year is "Moroccan Hospitality: From Heritage to Tourism Excellence," aiming to enhance Morocco's image as a distinctive tourist destination and to establish hospitality culture as a key element of the country's tourism and economic appeal.
