Marrakech Hosts the 9th International Congress on Thermal Sciences Emphasizing Sustainability

Marrakech Welcomes Global Experts in Thermal Sciences

The vibrant city of Marrakech recently served as the host for the 9th International Congress on Thermal Sciences (AMT’2026), a significant scientific event held from April 1 to April 4, 2026. This gathering brought together researchers, experts, and professionals from a variety of fields, all dedicated to advancing energy innovation. The congress, organized by the National School of Applied Sciences of Marrakech, part of Cadi Ayyad University, in collaboration with the Moroccan Association of Thermal Sciences and several national and international stakeholders, focused on the theme "Thermal Sciences and Digitalization: Towards Intelligent and Sustainable Systems."

Fostering Collaboration and Innovation in Energy

The congress featured a diverse program that included plenary lectures, scientific presentations, technical sessions, and poster displays, providing a platform for participants to share their research findings and explore new avenues in the field. According to Sahar Abdouh, a member of parliament who attended the event, the royal protection afforded to this scientific forum underscores its growing significance in attracting international experts. Such efforts contribute to enhancing national scientific research and fostering international cooperation.

Abdouh praised the high caliber of scientific discussions on topics such as thermal transformation, hydraulic engineering, energy storage, and intelligent systems for clean energies. She also urged for increased funding for national research and the opening of opportunities for the private sector to support these initiatives. Concurrently, a Topical School was organized during this event, offering specialized training in areas such as photovoltaic energy and energy auditing, aimed at bolstering the skills of young researchers and engineers.

Through this edition of the congress, the organizers aspire to strengthen the synergies between academic research and industrial innovation while supporting the transition towards smarter and more environmentally friendly energy systems.
