Marrakech Hosts International Discussions on Civil Aviation Future

Marrakech has emerged as a dynamic hub reflecting the increasing global activity within the air transport sector, serving as the venue for the fifth edition of the International Symposium on the Support of Implementation, held from April 14 to 16. This significant event has attracted international attention regarding the future of civil aviation.

During this international gathering, Abdel Samad Guioh, Morocco's Minister of Transport and Logistics, engaged in a series of bilateral meetings with international officials, focusing on enhancing cooperation across various transportation sectors, particularly in aviation. A notable meeting occurred between the Moroccan minister and Ahmed Bab Ahmed, the Director General of the Civil Aviation Agency of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral relations, emphasizing their desire to broaden these ties further.

This meeting provided a valuable opportunity to explore ways to advance partnerships in civil aviation through the exchange of expertise and learning from successful experiences. Such collaboration is expected to elevate safety standards and quality while enhancing the efficiency of this vital sector.

In his closing remarks, the minister highlighted that Morocco's hosting of this international event reflects its active commitment to supporting and developing the air transport system. This commitment is evident in the enhancement of safety standards and the improvement of air connectivity at both African and international levels.

Furthermore, he noted that the civil aviation sector is undergoing profound transformations, characterized by a growing recovery in air traffic, rapid technological innovation, and increasing environmental challenges. He emphasized that this symposium was not merely a discussion platform but represented a collective commitment toward building a more integrated and sustainable sector.

The minister also pointed out that organizing this symposium for the first time on the African continent solidifies Morocco's position as a key player in international civil aviation, reinforcing its role as a strategic bridge connecting Africa with Europe and other parts of the world.
