International Series Morocco Returns to Rabat: A Premier Golfing Event with Visit Morocco Partnership

International Series Morocco: A Milestone Event in Golf

Marrakech – The prestigious International Series Morocco is set to make its much-anticipated return to the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, scheduled from June 11 to 14. This fourth edition of the tournament will feature an impressive prize fund of $2 million and will be presented in partnership with Visit Morocco, the brand representing the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT). This collaboration not only reinforces Rabat's significance on the Asian Tour calendar but also aligns the tournament with Morocco's strategic goal of becoming a premier golf travel destination in the MENA region and beyond.

The event is co-sanctioned by both LIV Golf and the Asian Tour, functioning as a vital component of a comprehensive player development pathway that encompasses various stages, from the First Stage Qualifying School to the full Asian Tour circuit. Top performers in the International Series events earn valuable points towards promotion to the LIV Golf League, with three coveted spots available in 2026. Additionally, players ranked within the top 40 throughout the season gain access to LIV Golf Promotions, further incentivizing excellence in the sport.

Course Details and Notable Achievements

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, the tournament will take place on the Red Course, which was voted the Asian Tour Players’ Choice Course of the Year in 2025. This challenging course measures 7,633 yards and features a par 73 layout, including 11 par-4 holes, four par-5s, and three par-3s. Among its notable holes, the longest stretches to 598 yards on the par-5 fifth hole, while the shortest is the 192-yard par-3 fourteenth. Scott Vincent from Zimbabwe emerged victorious in the 2025 edition at this very venue, finishing with an impressive score of 14 under par, totaling 278 strokes.

The tournament format comprises 72-hole individual stroke play, spanning four days and attracting a diverse field of competitors. Participants typically include players from LIV Golf, members of the Asian Tour, top local Moroccan talent, and competitors from various international tours. Rahul Singh, Head of The International Series, highlighted the significant growth of the event since its inception in 2022, remarking, "Each return has raised the bar for competition while contributing to the continued growth of the game in the country." He further emphasized the importance of Morocco in the series, noting the commitment to host the event for another two years as a testament to the country's strategic relevance.

Singh expressed pride in showcasing top-tier golfing talent in Morocco, stating, "Through this tournament, we are proud to bring some of the biggest names in golf to Morocco, while creating meaningful opportunities for local players to compete, learn, and elevate their game in a truly global environment." The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation, under the leadership of Prince Moulay Rachid, has been an integral supporter of the International Series since its first edition in Morocco, facilitating the development pipeline for local talents and connecting grassroots events with international competition.

In addition to Visit Morocco, several other sponsors, including Royal Air Maroc, Titleist, Rolex, and Fenix, are also contributing to the event's success. The return of the International Series to Rabat follows closely on the heels of the capital's recent hosting of the 50th edition of the Trophée Hassan II and the 29th Coupe Lalla Meryem, which took place from May 18 to 24 at the same venue. The prize ceremony, held on May 23, was presided over by Prince Moulay Rachid and Princess Lalla Meryem.

Noteworthy winners included Australian Scott Hend, who claimed the Hassan II Golf Trophy, and Canadian Anna Huang, who secured the Lalla Meryem Cup title. The Hassan II Golf Trophy, established in 1971 by the late King Hassan II, has been part of the PGA Tour Champions circuit since 2023, while the Lalla Meryem Cup, created in 1993, has served as a Ladies European Tour event since 2010. Both PGA Tour Champions president Miller Brady and Ladies European Tour CEO Tom Phillips attended the ceremony, expressing gratitude to King Mohammed VI, Prince Moulay Rachid, and Princess Lalla Meryem for their exceptional organization and hospitality extended to participants and guests.
