On Saturday, June 13, law enforcement officials at Marrakech Menara Airport apprehended a 30-year-old French national of Algerian descent. She was arrested on suspicion of disseminating digital content that defamed Moroccan citizens, as well as insulting a public institution protected by law.
The accused had previously posted derogatory content on her social media accounts, which included offensive remarks about Moroccan citizens and explicit allegations against public officials regarding bribery and preferential treatment during their enforcement of traffic laws.
These criminal acts prompted a judicial inquiry supervised by the relevant public prosecutor's office, leading to the issuance of a nationwide search warrant for the suspect. She was detained on Saturday while preparing to board a flight to France.
The suspect is currently under police custody as part of an investigation being conducted by the regional judicial police in Marrakech, under the oversight of the competent public prosecutor's office, to uncover the true motives behind her criminal actions.
