On Monday evening, security forces in the Gueliz area of Marrakech launched a comprehensive security operation targeting several locations known for criminal activities and public order violations. This initiative was overseen by the area chief and was conducted under the directives of the Marrakech Security Commissioner.
The security interventions spanned various neighborhoods and streets in Gueliz, focusing on combating different forms of illegal activities as part of ongoing efforts to enhance safety, fight crime, and maintain public order. The operation resulted in the arrest of seven women suspected of involvement in corruption-related cases, who were subsequently taken to the twenty-second police precinct for further investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office.
Additionally, the security efforts extended to the Douar Kadiya area, where authorities apprehended five individuals suspected of drug use, along with 17 others for being in a public state of intoxication. Furthermore, eight individuals were arrested on suspicion of inciting corruption.
The operation also led to the detention of four homeless individuals and five others suspected of engaging in illegal car guarding activities, as well as two people believed to be involved in assault and battery incidents. These security measures are part of the periodic campaigns carried out by the Marrakech Security Directorate aimed at addressing various forms of crime and deviance, while also enhancing citizens' sense of security. The law will continue to be enforced against anyone suspected of committing criminal acts, under the oversight of the relevant public prosecutor's office.
