Empowering Women in Taza: The Founding Assembly of the Authenticity and Modernity Party's Women's Organization

Strengthening Political Participation of Women in Taza

In a significant move towards enhancing the political landscape ahead of the upcoming electoral challenges, a foundational assembly for the Women’s Organization of the Authenticity and Modernity Party was held in Taza. This event was overseen by Khadija Adria, the regional president of the organization and vice president of the regional council, alongside Karim Elhamis, a parliamentary advisor and regional coordinator of the party in Taza. The assembly took place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the 'Chiboub' meeting hall in Upper Taza, under the banner of promoting women's empowerment and influence in decision-making processes. The event attracted numerous women and activists from various localities within the region, emphasizing the importance of women’s voices in the political arena.

The gathering commenced with an opening address by Meryema Rashidi, an active member of the women's movement, who welcomed attendees and initiated the session with a recitation of the Quran, followed by the Moroccan national anthem and the party's anthem performed by the Taza choir. Karim Elhamis delivered a speech where he congratulated the women for their foundational assembly and expressed his hopes for their success in their political endeavors, aligning with the broader developmental goals shared by the party and the wise guidance of His Majesty, the King. He underscored the critical roles played by parliamentary representatives, local leaders, and party ministers, as well as the notable contributions of Khadija Adria, who has been instrumental in securing substantial structural projects for the region, with budgets in the millions of dirhams aimed at transforming the area's socio-economic landscape.

Following this, Khadija Adria, in her capacity as the legal and organizational head of the Women’s Organization, reiterated her warm welcome to the women and youth present, thanking them for their substantial turnout. She acknowledged their pivotal roles in strengthening the party's ranks and expanding its political horizons, aiming for women’s rightful place in the political map of the region and the nation. Furthermore, she highlighted various significant development projects funded through the regional council, which she advocated for with vigor to benefit all local communities, emphasizing a non-partisan approach and rejecting the narrow political manipulations often propagated by detractors. This clarification was echoed by Karim Elhamis during his remarks.

The assembly concluded with the election of Fatima Zahra Alziouani as the president of the regional bureau of the Women’s Organization of the Authenticity and Modernity Party in Taza, marking a new chapter in the organization's commitment to empowering women and enhancing their political engagement.
