The Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP) has officially unveiled its list of candidates for the forthcoming legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026, during a national meeting held in Bouznika today. This announcement reflects the party's proactive approach towards the upcoming electoral challenges, as they seek to strengthen their presence in various regions across the country.
The disclosed candidate lists encompass a diverse array of political figures, including current parliamentarians, well-known party activists, and a selection of new candidates, all of whom embody the party's commitment to renewal and revitalization. In the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, notable candidates include Hassan Lachkar from the Shala constituency, Abderrahim Benatiq from the Al-Mouhit district, and Aicha Elkarji from the western Kénitra. Additional candidates from this region are Hassan Samat in Ben Slimane, Taha Bayhou in Kénitra, Hicham Laasli in Sidi Kacem, Khalil Saadi in Skhirat-Témara, Rachid Farachiy in Khémisset, and Abdelhafid Behizate in Tiflet-Rammani.
In the Casablanca-Settat region, the list features a wide range of candidates across multiple districts, including Ahmed Mahdi Mazouari in Mohammedia, Aicha Kallaa in Nouaceur, Latifa Chrif in Anfa, and Mohamed Bouamri in Berrechid. Other candidates from this region include Mehdi Fattami in El Jadida, Said Namli in Settat, and Mohamed Abou Faraj in Sidi Bennour, among others.
The Fès-Meknès region also showcases prominent candidates such as Idriss Chitibi in the Sefrou district, Yassine Jouhar in Northern Fès, and Nasser Aherhar in Ifrane. In the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, Aouicha Zolfi has been nominated in the Tan-Tan district, while Mahmoud Abba represents the region of Assa-Zag.
Furthermore, the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region includes candidates like Amin Bakali in Chefchaouen, Abdelhaq Amghar in Al Hoceima, and Mohamed Elhamani in Larache. The Marrakech-Safi region features a robust selection of candidates as well, including Mohamed Mlaal in Essaouira, Hamid Akrud in Rhamna, and Abdelghani Kamel in Al Haouz.
In the Draa-Tafilalet region, the party has endorsed Moulay Mehdi Alaoui as the lead candidate for the Rachidia district, along with Abdel Rahim Shahid in Zagora and Ashraf Hassnawi in Midelt. Meanwhile, the Eastern region's list comprises candidates such as Said Baaziz in Jerada, Omar Ainane in Oujda Angad, and Mohammed Abrakan in Nador.
In the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, the nominations include Charki El Znaidi in Fquih Ben Salah, Fadel Baras in Béni Mellal, and Abdelilah El Alafi in Khouribga. The Souss-Massa region has also presented several candidates including Lahcen Beqandaren in Inzegane and Rja Masou in Agadir Ida Ou Tanane.
The party emphasized that the preparation of these candidate lists was guided by several organizational and political criteria, including competence, integrity, field presence, and a commitment to rejuvenating party leadership while enhancing the representation of youth and women in elected institutions.
During this meeting, the party outlined its strategic directions for the upcoming electoral phase, with party leadership, under the presidency of Idriss Lachkar, reaffirming their readiness to engage in the electoral competition.
