Discover Villa Sahrai: Casablanca's New Luxurious Oasis

Recently, we had the pleasure of visiting Villa Sahrai, the newly opened five-star destination located on the picturesque Corniche of Casablanca. It is safe to say that we were utterly captivated by this establishment. The architecture is striking, the décor exudes a unique elegance, the views of the Atlantic Ocean are breathtaking, and the culinary offerings alone are worth a visit. Let’s take a closer look.

Villa Sahrai is not just another hotel; it stands out as one of the most beautiful venues. Nestled in the chic Anfa district, this luxurious retreat is redefining the standards of five-star hospitality, offering an experience that goes far beyond merely booking a room. Visitors come here not just for accommodation but to indulge in a remarkable experience.

Upon entering, the charm is immediate. The expansive volumes create an impressive atmosphere without feeling cold, while natural light floods the spaces, drawing the eye toward the ocean. Every aspect of Villa Sahrai radiates elegance, characterized by a refined subtlety rather than ostentation.

This establishment is the second in the Sahrai Collection, following the iconic Hôtel Sahrai in Fès, and has proudly joined the prestigious Design Hotels collection, a global reference for characterful hospitality. This detail speaks volumes about the ambitious vision behind Villa Sahrai.

A Masterpiece of Architecture

It is impossible to overlook the stunning work crafted by French architect and designer Christophe Pillet. Drawing inspiration from the modernist villas that have shaped Anfa's identity, the building revisits brutalist architecture with incredible finesse. Its sculptural concrete, clean lines, large bay windows, interplay of light and shadow, lush patios, and open terraces towards the horizon create perspectives that beckon one to pause and admire.

Inside, the common areas, guest rooms, and the Rubillini’s restaurant are designed by Casablanca's own Ali Lahlou, while the Swiss studio Deer Home has conceptualized the rooftop ambiance of L’Aragosta. The result is a remarkable coherence: natural stone, walnut wood, leather, linen, marble, and artisan-crafted plaster work blend seamlessly with carefully curated artwork, producing a warm, sophisticated, and profoundly contemporary atmosphere. Here, every detail is intentional; even the decorative items tell a story and pay homage to Moroccan craftsmanship.

Experience Luxury with Ocean Views

With only 56 rooms and suites, Villa Sahrai encapsulates a vision of intimate luxury. Most accommodations boast spectacular ocean views, thanks to expansive bay windows or verdant terraces where one can easily envision enjoying breakfast while listening to the waves. The use of natural materials and hues of sand and terracotta, alongside bespoke furniture and original artworks, creates a calming, almost meditative ambiance. This is a far cry from impersonal hotels; each room feels more akin to a stay in a sophisticated private villa than a conventional establishment.

However, the true highlight awaits a few floors up. L’Aragosta, the rooftop bar, is destined to become a talking point. With its breathtaking view of the Atlantic and a chic yet relaxed atmosphere, it encompasses all the elements that encourage patrons to return time and again. At sunset, the scenery is simply irresistible.

The culinary offerings are equally impressive. Mediterranean cuisine takes center stage, showcasing seafood and ingredients sourced from local producers and fishermen. Each dish is meticulously crafted, avoiding any showiness while focusing on quality. And the desserts? They are a true delight—visually stunning and exquisitely delicious, they provide a perfect finale to a meal, compelling enough to share… or keep to oneself.

On the ground floor, Rubillini’s presents a distinctly different yet equally appealing atmosphere. Inspired by renowned Italian-American dining, this restaurant embraces a convivial ambiance, offering generous antipasti, fresh pasta, crispy pizzas, and signature cocktails. This is a venue that is sure to become a must-visit spot for locals in Casablanca.

What truly distinguishes Villa Sahrai is its commitment to being a vibrant hub from dawn till dusk. In the morning, guests can enjoy coffee facing the ocean, while the afternoon invites relaxation at the Spa by Sahrai, which boasts 300 square meters dedicated to well-being, featuring hammams, a heated indoor pool, sauna, and Cinq Mondes treatments inspired by rituals from around the globe.

Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the 8848 Club, a state-of-the-art fitness space that offers boxing, Pilates Reformer, spinning, and personalized coaching, accompanied by a lively program featuring DJs.

As evening descends, the lights dim, music gently rises, cocktails arrive at the tables, and the rooftop transforms into a different experience. It becomes evident that Villa Sahrai aims to be more than just a hotel; it aspires to become a new lifestyle destination for Casablanca.
