Fez Authorities Act Against Unsanitary Food Practices
In a recent enforcement operation, a joint committee successfully dismantled an illegal processing unit for animal organs in the Al-Safah neighborhood of Fez on Thursday, July 9, 2026. This raid was part of a broader initiative aimed at ensuring food safety and protecting consumer health. During the operation, authorities seized and destroyed approximately one ton of animal offal and fat, which were found to be stored and prepared under highly unsanitary conditions. Investigations revealed that the illegal operation was supplying numerous fast food establishments with these products.
The raid involved collaboration between local authorities, security services, health inspectors, administrative police, and the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA).
