Celebrating the Enduring Friendship Between Vietnam and Morocco: A Tribute to President Ho Chi Minh

Honoring President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam-Morocco Relations

The President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, in partnership with the Vietnamese Embassy in Morocco and the High Commissioner for Former Resistance Fighters and Member of the Liberation Army of Morocco, has orchestrated a series of commemorative activities in Rabat. These events are designed to honor President Ho Chi Minh and celebrate the significant 65-year anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Morocco. On June 19, 2026, these festivities kicked off, coinciding with the 115th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's journey to seek a path for Vietnam's national salvation, a milestone that also underscores the enduring friendship between the two nations.

The program featured a thematic exhibition titled "President Ho Chi Minh – A Symbol of Peace and International Friendship," a seminar exploring "Vietnam in the Era of National Rising and Vietnam-Morocco Relations," and the unveiling of the "Ho Chi Minh Bookcase." During the opening ceremony, Le Thi Phuong, the Director of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site, emphasized the relevance of Ho Chi Minh’s ideological legacy, which harmonizes national strength with contemporary global dynamics. This legacy is not only pivotal for Vietnam's development but also acts as a cultural bridge for the Vietnamese community residing in Morocco.

Thematic Exhibition and Seminar Highlights

The thematic exhibition stands as the centerpiece of the commemorative program, organized into three distinct sections. The first part reflects on Ho Chi Minh’s determination to find a path to national salvation and his journey toward establishing enduring peace. The second part delves into the theme of spreading peace and fostering friendships across the globe, while the final section showcases modern Vietnam’s commitment to inheriting and advancing the peaceful ideals embodied in Ho Chi Minh’s legacy.

This exhibition not only portrays President Ho Chi Minh as a pivotal figure in Vietnam’s national liberation but also positions him as a cultural icon advocating for a world devoid of oppression—where nations coexist in harmony, mutual respect, and understanding. In tandem with the exhibition, the seminar served as an academic platform to reflect on the historical and contemporary friendship between Vietnam and Morocco. Despite geographical distances, the two nations share a profound bond, cultivated over 65 years of mutual respect and cooperation, evident through numerous high-level visits and a plethora of signed agreements.

In recognition of this enduring friendship, the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site presented the "Ho Chi Minh Bookcase" to the High Commissioner for Former Resistance Fighters and Member of the Liberation Army of Morocco. This collection includes significant publications and documents that highlight Ho Chi Minh's life and his contributions to international friendship and cooperation.

The activities conducted not only pay homage to President Ho Chi Minh's monumental contributions but also celebrate the vital values of peace, independence, solidarity, and friendship among nations. They reaffirm the robust and trustworthy diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Morocco, paving the way for future collaboration and shared prosperity.
