Significant Contribution to National Cereal Production

The Casablanca-Settat region is poised to make a remarkable contribution to Morocco's agricultural landscape, with projections indicating that it will produce approximately 25.8 million quintals of cereals during the current farming season. This impressive yield represents about 28.6% of the country's anticipated national cereal production, as reported by Mohamed Kharbouche, the head of the agricultural sector development division at the Regional Directorate of Agriculture.

Extensive Cultivation Efforts Across the Region

This year, the area dedicated to cereal cultivation in the Casablanca-Settat region encompasses a total of 852,555 hectares. This land allocation includes 349,585 hectares for soft wheat, 241,350 hectares for durum wheat, and 261,620 hectares for barley. The comprehensive cereal planting program has been successfully executed, showcasing the region's agricultural capability and commitment to enhancing food security in Morocco. As the agricultural season progresses, the efforts in cultivation not only reflect the region's agricultural potential but also play a crucial role in stabilizing the country's cereal supply, contributing significantly to both local and national economies.
