Morocco's Impressive Performance Ahead of the World Cup
The Moroccan national football team, known as 'Los Leones del Atlas', is demonstrating its determination as it gears up for the World Cup. Following an impressive 5-0 victory against Burundi, the squad under coach Ouahbi continued their winning streak, defeating Madagascar with a commanding score of 4-0. The goals came from Ismael Saibari, who scored twice, along with a penalty from Hakim Ziyech and a goal from El Kaabi after a brilliant play by Brahim Diaz. This brings Morocco's tally to nine goals in just two matches as they prepare for their upcoming challenge against Norway, featuring star players Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard.
Morocco entered the pitch at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium with great intensity. Just five minutes into the match, Ismael Saibari, who has been linked with Bayern Munich, showcased his aerial prowess by scoring the opening goal. He headed the ball powerfully, which struck the crossbar before finding the back of the net.
Saibari was instrumental once again, scoring the second goal following a mistake by Madagascar's Raveloson during an attempted clearance. This error allowed Morocco to capitalize and extend their lead. Throughout the match, Madagascar struggled to pose any significant threat, often creating problems for themselves.
In the second half, coach Ouahbi made strategic changes, introducing six new players onto the field. Despite the substitutions, the Moroccan side maintained their dominance, but it wasn't until the 77th minute that they added to their score. Onuahi was brought down in the penalty area, and Rahimi stepped up to successfully convert the penalty.
Brahim Diaz, who entered the match with ten minutes remaining, made an immediate impact. He showcased his dribbling skills, continuously attacking the Madagascar defense. One of his attempts was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Dupire, who deflected the shot onto the post. However, El Kaabi was quick to react, seizing the rebound and scoring Morocco's fourth goal. With such a commanding performance, Morocco is on a roll as they look forward to facing Norway on June 7.
