Al Ahly Intensifies Summer Transfer Movements with New Bid for Benjida

Al Ahly's Strategic Summer Transfer Plans

As the summer transfer window progresses, Al Ahly's football management, led by Mahmoud El Khatib, is ramping up its efforts on multiple fronts to reorganize the first team. Recently, the club has made significant strides in negotiations with Moroccan club FUS Rabat to secure the services of striker Sofiane Benjida. Simultaneously, Al Ahly has established a direct line of communication in Germany to negotiate with experienced German coach Roger Schmidt, aiming to appoint him as the new head coach for the upcoming season.

Intense Negotiations for Benjida

In the pursuit of bolstering their attacking front, negotiations between Al Ahly and FUS Rabat have turned into a heated financial debate. Sources reveal that Al Ahly has officially increased its financial offer for Benjida from $1.2 million to $2 million, in a serious attempt to persuade the Moroccan side to part ways with their promising forward. However, FUS Rabat remains steadfast, demanding a fixed price of $3 million for the player's release, a figure that Al Ahly considers excessive and is unwilling to meet.

The current negotiations are being facilitated by the player's agent, who has stepped in to propose a compromise that would ensure the deal goes through. The agent has suggested maintaining Al Ahly's initial offer while adding $500,000 in flexible bonuses tied to Benjida's appearances, goal-scoring rate, and the achievements he contributes to with the team. This proposal is currently under consideration by both parties in an effort to simplify the transaction during this transfer window.

On another front, rapid movements within Al Ahly have been observed regarding the coaching position, with the club aiming to secure a contract with the highly experienced Roger Schmidt as a replacement for the current coaching staff. Yassin Mansour, the club's vice president, has taken charge of this initiative and has tasked Amr Shaheen with traveling to Germany for direct negotiations with Schmidt, presenting him with Al Ahly's sporting project to persuade him to accept the position.

To address potential financial hurdles due to the high salary expectations of the German coach in European football, Yassin Mansour has expressed his willingness to personally cover part of Schmidt's annual salary. This gesture demonstrates the management's commitment to assembling a world-class coaching staff capable of guiding the Red Devils to both continental and domestic success.

The Al Ahly football management believes that successfully negotiating with Roger Schmidt would significantly enhance the team's tactical capabilities, considering the coach's impressive resume and extensive experience leading top European clubs in the UEFA Champions League.
