The Crucial Role of Industrial Zones in National Development
In a recent parliamentary session, MP Mohammed Hajira emphasized the vital necessity of enhancing and expanding industrial zones across various regions of Morocco. He underscored the importance of achieving equitable distribution of these zones to foster regional justice. Hajira pointed out that numerous provinces still lack sufficient industrial areas, despite having significant natural and land resources that could support industrial development. For instance, he cited the Souss region, which boasts extensive spaces and tremendous potential yet is limited to a small industrial activity zone.
Hajira passionately advocated for the establishment of new industrial zones within this region, home to over 500,000 residents. He argued that this initiative would bolster investment opportunities, generate wealth, and create job openings, ultimately linking this economic dynamism with neighboring provinces such as Fez and Nador. This approach aligns with an integrated and comprehensive developmental vision aimed at enhancing the economic landscape throughout the country.
