Škoda Achieves Remarkable Sales Growth in Morocco
The Czech automotive manufacturer Škoda has reported outstanding results for the first quarter of 2026, exhibiting a significant surge in global sales driven by a remarkable expansion in North Africa, particularly in Morocco. Between January and March, the Moroccan market made a notable impact by delivering 1,700 vehicles to customers, reflecting a spectacular increase of 45% compared to the previous year. This impressive performance positions North Africa as a key growth engine for the company based in Mladá Boleslav.
Global Market Dynamics and Financial Success
This regional dynamism is further supported by neighboring Egypt, which recorded 1,600 vehicle registrations, marking a staggering increase of 58.5%. Outside the African continent, India also contributed to Škoda's international vitality with 17,400 units sold. Overall, the company delivered 271,900 cars worldwide in just three months, representing a total increase of 14%. This growth trajectory has been propelled by the success of its electrified vehicle lines, including the Elroq and Enyaq models, enabling Škoda to achieve a historic milestone as the second-best-selling car manufacturer in Europe.
Financially, this synergy translates into a revenue of €7.9 billion and a record operating profit of €660 million. The Moroccan automotive sector is experiencing an exceptional year, as it has surpassed the symbolic threshold of 200,000 units sold for the first time in its history, with the overall volume reaching 208,018 units by the end of November 2025. This represents a remarkable increase of 35.27% compared to the same period last year.
The Moroccan automotive market set a historical record in 2025 with 235,372 sales, which is a 33.43% increase. This exceptional dynamism is underpinned by a recovery in demand and an unprecedented expansion of supply, particularly in both passenger and utility vehicle segments, confirming the sector's revitalization.
