SEMS Drives the Digital Transformation Dialogue in Marrakech
The city of Marrakech recently hosted the second edition of the Procurement Excellence Forum (Assises de l’Excellence Achats 2026), which gathered a distinguished group of procurement leaders, decision-makers, and industry executives to discuss the future of procurement in the context of digital transformation and artificial intelligence. The event was under the theme "Innovation, Collaboration, and Performance in Tomorrow's Procurement."
SEMS made a significant impact at the forum as a strategic partner and official sponsor of the Procurement Excellence Awards. The company showcased its latest digital solutions for managing the procurement cycle (Source-to-Pay), emphasizing the critical role of artificial intelligence in enhancing supply chain efficiency and strengthening corporate competitiveness.
During the forum, SEMS's General Manager, Abdelilah Attari, delivered a presentation on the applications of artificial intelligence in procurement, highlighting that the adoption of intelligent technologies has become essential to keep pace with economic changes, improve performance, automate processes, and enhance decision-making capabilities.
Younes Wahman, President of the National Association of Buyers in Morocco, noted that the role of procurement has evolved into a strategic pillar for supporting competitiveness and economic sovereignty over recent years, asserting that procurement professionals have become key players in managing relationships with various partners within the economic ecosystem.
The event also featured the 2026 Procurement Excellence Awards ceremony, which honored several leading organizations. Post Office Morocco received the award for strategic procurement excellence, while Laprophan (Flowlink) won two awards for innovation with suppliers and a special jury prize. Royal Air Maroc was recognized for sustainability and shared the award for local and African system development with the Managem group, while Holcim took home the award for digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
In conclusion, the forum reiterated its commitment to launching new initiatives aimed at fostering innovation in procurement and enhancing digital transformation, thereby contributing to boosting the competitiveness of the Moroccan economy and advancing industrial performance.
