The first operation took place in Béchar, where officers from the regional anti-narcotics unit thwarted an attempt to smuggle a substantial shipment of cannabis weighing approximately 79.25 kilograms. During this operation, three suspects were apprehended, alongside the recovery of 365 million Algerian Dinars, a sum derived from illicit drug profits. In a separate but related operation, the mobile police unit from the Sidi Bel Abbes security department executed a raid that resulted in the confiscation of 57 kilograms of processed cannabis. This operation effectively disrupted the activities of another organized drug trafficking network and led to the arrest of one of its members, along with the seizure of a vehicle used for transporting the narcotics.
The suspects have been presented to the relevant judicial authorities in Béchar and Sidi Bel Abbes for further legal proceedings.
