Pratt & Whitney Canada Expands Operations with New Facility
In a significant move to bolster its global supply chain, Pratt & Whitney Canada, a subsidiary of RTX Corp, has officially inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in the Midparc Industrial Zone of Nouaceur, Casablanca. This state-of-the-art facility, spanning 130,000 square feet, is poised to enhance the production capacity of various aircraft engine programs, including the renowned PT6 engine family. By 2030, the site is expected to generate around 200 new jobs, reflecting the company's commitment to meeting the increasing demand for high-quality and reliable aircraft engines.
Maria Della Posta, President of Pratt & Whitney Canada, emphasized the strategic importance of this facility, stating, "This site is a strategic extension of our global production network and demonstrates our commitment to building resilient supply chains worldwide that will enable us to increase production for our customers." The establishment of this manufacturing plant not only signifies an investment in advanced technology and production processes but also highlights Pratt & Whitney's dedication to fostering local talent and contributing to Morocco's burgeoning aerospace sector.

The journey to operational readiness for the Morocco facility commenced with groundbreaking in 2024, and since then, it has achieved remarkable progress in terms of construction, workforce recruitment, and the installation of cutting-edge machining equipment. Designed with lean manufacturing principles in mind, the facility incorporates advanced digital systems aimed at ensuring quality and operational excellence. This commitment to innovation is further underscored by Pratt & Whitney's collaboration with local organizations to nurture the next generation of aerospace professionals, thereby reinforcing Morocco's status as a leader in the aerospace industry.
In addition to the activities at Pratt & Whitney, RTX's sister company, Collins Aerospace, has been contributing to Morocco's aerospace landscape since 2012 by manufacturing cockpit solutions and flight controls. Together, these two RTX entities employ approximately 250 individuals in the kingdom, underscoring the company's significant role in the local economy.
