The multimedia library space of Sidi Youssef Ben Ali is set to host a national scientific conference on Saturday, April 25, 2026, focusing on the topic: "Recent Developments in Criminal Procedure Law: The Challenge of Protecting Rights and Freedoms while Upholding Legal Security." This event will feature a distinguished group of researchers, academics, and legal professionals.
This conference is part of a broader effort to engage with the increasing public discourse surrounding anticipated amendments to the Criminal Procedure Law. The organizers aim to foster a robust scientific discussion that addresses the delicate balance between ensuring individual rights and freedoms and enhancing legal security within the judicial system.
The event is organized by the Center for Unity in Legal Disputes and Social Studies and Strategic Research, in partnership with the Future Caravan Association. Contributions will also come from the Master’s program in Social and Family Disputes at the Faculty of Legal Sciences in Oujda, as well as the Master’s program in Criminal Sciences and Cybersecurity at the Multidisciplinary Faculty of Nador. Additionally, the event will feature publications from the Journal of Unity in Legal Disputes and Social Studies and Strategic Research, along with the Journal of Legal and Judicial Disputes.
This scientific gathering is expected to serve as a platform for the exchange of legal perspectives and the presentation of analytical readings on procedural text updates, particularly in light of the transformations occurring within the Moroccan judicial system, which pose challenges related to ensuring fair trials and instilling trust in the justice system.
Moreover, the conference seeks to highlight the role of legal practitioners in establishing a solid legal security framework, which is a fundamental pillar for protecting rights and freedoms and promoting stability in legal transactions within society.
