Moroccan Government Seeks Resolution for Ceuta Migration Crisis
In a recent statement, Karima Benyaich, the Moroccan ambassador to Spain, addressed the ongoing migration crisis affecting the autonomous city of Ceuta. During a speech at the Throne Day celebrations, she emphasized that the Moroccan government is keen on having its citizens who have crossed into Ceuta return to Morocco. The ambassador articulated that the current situation is not favorable for Morocco, as it prefers a migration process that is legal, orderly, and secure for all involved. "Our governments and ministers are in continuous contact to resolve this undesired situation for the Kingdom of Morocco, and what we want is for our citizens who have crossed to return to our country," she stated. Benyaich highlighted the importance of cooperation with Spain, particularly in the context of the ongoing operation at the Strait of Gibraltar, aimed at managing migration flows effectively.
