On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the Marrakech-Safi Regional Council convened at its headquarters for the regular May session of the "Marrakech Transport" group of local councils, presided over by Samir Kodar, with council members in attendance. This assembly served as a platform to continue monitoring issues related to the management of public transport services via buses.

The session provided an opportunity to discuss various matters concerning the governance of the urban transport sector. The agenda included the presentation of an informational report in accordance with Article 33 of the group's internal regulations, alongside an update on the management contract for public transport services in the Marrakech local council area.

In a statement, Kawthar Al-Gharfi, the Secretary of the Marrakech Transport group, highlighted that this session is part of the institutional dynamics adopted by the group to oversee various projects linked to urban transport, considering it an essential service that directly impacts the daily lives of citizens.

Al-Gharfi further emphasized that the council is committed, through its regular sessions, to evaluate different stages of managing this sector and to monitor the fulfillment of commitments associated with the management contract. This commitment aims to enhance the quality of services provided to users and to improve the effectiveness of public transport within the group's jurisdiction.

Moreover, she noted that the group continues to work on developing the urban transport system to match the urban and demographic expansion experienced by the city of Marrakech and its surrounding communities, focusing on modernizing services, improving travel conditions, and meeting the expectations of the residents.
