Izotropic Establishes African Regional Headquarters in Casablanca

Izotropic's Strategic Move in Africa

Izotropic Corporation, a Canadian medical device company renowned for its advanced imaging system, IzoView, has officially announced the establishment of its African regional subsidiary, Izotropic Africa, in Casablanca, Morocco. This strategic decision aims to enhance the precision of breast cancer screening and diagnosis across the continent.

The newly formed entity, Izotropic Africa, will be responsible for operations across 38 African countries, in addition to several Gulf nations, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain. The company plans to collaborate with a robust network of institutional and industrial partners, which will encompass health ministries, hospital groups, clinical research centers, and financial stakeholders to facilitate its operations and growth in the region.

Operational Vision and Future Plans

Choosing Casablanca as the regional headquarters was driven by the city’s logistical advantages and its connectivity with Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. From this location, Izotropic Africa will oversee strategic operations, regulatory and clinical file management, as well as the implementation of training programs, software solutions, and institutional partnerships.

Moreover, the subsidiary is set to explore manufacturing and assembly opportunities within Morocco, aiming to bolster its regional expansion efforts. The regulatory strategy includes obtaining CE marking for IzoView in Europe, leveraging Morocco as an operational hub while pursuing market approvals in Africa and the Gulf. Over the next twelve months, Izotropic Africa plans to introduce its technology to established medical networks, conduct clinical and technical presentations, secure pilot sites in hospitals, and structure its commercial activities.

In the long term, the company anticipates selling 40 IzoView systems in its first year, with a cumulative target of 300 units within five years, contingent upon regulatory approvals.

Additionally, Izotropic has extended the deadline for finalizing its formal agreement with Izotropic Africa until June 30, 2026. This extension aims to facilitate ongoing discussions with hospital and financial partners regarding shareholder structure and distribution.

Dr. Mohammed Sair, the newly appointed General Manager, stated that this initiative aligns with a long-term vision for health infrastructure development, addressing the rising demand for advanced diagnostic solutions in the region. He also noted the keen interest from various governments and health institutions in adopting such technological solutions to enhance healthcare delivery.
