Agadir's Digital Tourism Adventure
The vibrant city of Agadir, located in the Souss-Massa region of Morocco, is undergoing a transformative shift in its tourism promotion through the innovative efforts of local youth. A new startup has emerged, introducing the first-ever gamified tourism application designed to offer a unique and engaging experience for both residents and visitors. Officially launched at the Tourist Information Centre, this application aims to enhance the way people explore Agadir and its surroundings, utilizing immersive walking, biking, and scooter routes.
Introducing Let’s Ando: A Gamified Experience
The application, aptly named Let’s Ando, operates through thematic "Boxes" that guide users on their journeys. By simply scanning a QR code, users are introduced to the legendary phoenix Amanar, who narrates the city's rich history while presenting quizzes and challenges. Players earn points and unlock rewards as they successfully answer questions, creating an interactive learning experience. Moreover, the app features a B2B space tailored for tourism professionals, complete with anti-fraud QR scanning, dashboards, and analytics, providing valuable insights into tourist engagement.
The primary objective of Let’s Ando is to shine a spotlight on the leisure activities and cultural riches of Agadir and the Souss-Massa region, which encompasses heritage, arts and crafts, and natural beauty. The city exploration circuit spans approximately 15.5 kilometers, taking around two and a half hours to complete, starting at the Tourist Information Centre and continuing along the picturesque Corniche and marina, ascending to the Belvédère Garden for a sweeping view of the city. The route also includes stops at significant historical sites such as the Kasbah Oufella and the Museum of Agadir's Reconstruction, culminating in a visit to the bustling Souk El Had and the charming Medina of Agadir, known as Coco Polizzi.
Beyond enhancing user experience, Let’s Ando embodies modern technological advancements aimed at empowering tourism professionals. The dedicated efforts of these young innovators reflect a collective spirit, showcasing their creative skills and passion for technology. Their initiative marks a successful venture towards revitalizing tourism in Agadir, promising a fresh perspective for both locals and tourists alike.
