Hilton Set to More Than Double Its Presence in Morocco with 15 New Hotels

Hilton Worldwide has announced an ambitious plan to significantly expand its footprint in Morocco, aiming to more than double its existing hotel portfolio by introducing 15 new properties across 10 different brands. This strategic move includes the much-anticipated debut of the Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé, marking a significant milestone for the luxury brand in the country, as well as the introduction of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, which will make its first appearance in Morocco.

Currently, Hilton operates 12 hotels within Morocco, and this expansion will see the introduction of well-known brands such as Curio Collection by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, and the aforementioned Tapestry Collection. The newly opened Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé is situated in the iconic Torre Mohammed VI, the tallest building in Morocco, and features an impressive array of amenities including 55 luxurious rooms and suites, multiple dining options, a spa, a private art collection, and over 1,300 square meters of event space.

The Tapestry Collection by Hilton will see its first two properties in Morocco, with Tapestry Collection by Hilton Casablanca expected to open in 2028 in the vibrant Gauthier district. This hotel will offer 90 rooms and suites and include a rooftop bar, a restaurant, and a fitness center. Similarly, Tapestry Collection by Hilton Chefchaouen, also set to open in 2028, will feature 100 rooms and suites, a rooftop restaurant, all-day dining service, a lobby café, a gym, a hammam with sauna, two swimming pools, a sports field, a kids' club, a versatile event space, and three meeting rooms. This property is being developed in collaboration with Les Résidences Hôtelières du Nord.

In Marrakech, Hilton will be expanding its offerings with the Eden Palm Marrakech, Curio Collection by Hilton, which is slated for a 2029 launch in partnership with Four AS Invest SARL. This property is designed to host 62 rooms and suites, a versatile meeting space, a restaurant with a terrace, a rooftop bar and café, a gym, a yoga room, a spa with five treatment rooms, and both indoor and outdoor pools along with a children's pool. This follows a recent agreement for the launch of DoubleTree by Hilton Marrakech La Palmeraie.

Hilton's expansion also targets coastal destinations with new properties in Nador and Tetuán. DoubleTree by Hilton Nador Marina is scheduled to open in 2028 in collaboration with Maroc SAS HOL Nador SAS and will feature 120 rooms and suites, a lobby café, a 24-hour restaurant, a poolside bar and barbecue, a fitness center, an outdoor pool, a ballroom, three meeting rooms, and multipurpose space. Meanwhile, Hilton Garden Inn Tetouan City Center is anticipated to open in 2029, developed alongside Les Résidences Hôtelières du Nord, offering 97 rooms and suites, a lobby café, a rooftop bar and café, an all-day dining restaurant, a swimming pool, a gym, an externally managed spa, and multiple meeting facilities.

These ambitious projects are part of a broader strategy by Hilton to enhance its presence in Morocco, which also includes plans to introduce LXR Hotels & Resorts in Casablanca, further expand the Curio Collection by Hilton in Rabat and Casablanca, and grow the Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn brands. Through this expansion, Hilton aims to create over 2,000 job opportunities for the local population in Morocco, fostering economic growth and development in the region.
