Severe Heatwave Warning Issued Across Various Regions

The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced a significant heatwave that will affect several regions of Morocco from Thursday until Saturday. This weather phenomenon is expected to bring extremely high temperatures, with forecasts predicting a range between 45 and 47 degrees Celsius in specific provinces including Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, Assa-Zag, Smara, Taroudant, Tata, Zagora, Errachidia, and Oussard. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions to minimize health risks associated with extreme heat.

In addition, the alert indicates that temperatures will rise between 42 and 45 degrees in provinces such as Fkih Ben Salah, Qalaat Sraghna, and Beni Mellal. The same temperature range is expected in regions like Agadir Ida Ou Tanane, Marrakech, Al Haouz, Youssoufia, Khénifra, Taounate, Wazzan, Meknes, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Sidi Kacem, Khouribga, Settat, and Chichaoua.

The meteorological service also predicts high temperatures from Friday to Saturday, with expected ranges between 40 and 45 degrees in provinces such as Sidi Slimane, Benslimane, Khmissat, Safi, and Settat. Moreover, heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong winds are anticipated in regions like Khénifra, Figuig, and Al Haouz, particularly on Thursday from 2 PM to 10 PM.

Residents are strongly urged to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and remain vigilant of weather updates. This heatwave poses a serious risk, and it is crucial to adhere to safety measures to ensure personal well-being during this extreme weather event.
