Promoting Morocco's Digital Investment Landscape
On April 20, 2026, parliamentary representative Aziz Lamini emphasized the necessity of further strengthening Morocco's position as a prime destination for international investments in the digital sector. During a session of oral questions directed towards the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government responsible for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, he advocated for enhanced international promotion of Morocco's digital capabilities while aiming to develop a robust system to attract major technological projects.
Lamini commended the current governmental efforts in this domain, particularly highlighting advancements in digital infrastructure, improvements to the business climate, and support for innovation and startups. However, he also pointed out several ongoing challenges that hinder the realization of the desired objectives. These challenges include the limited organized promotion of Morocco's digital potential on the international stage, insufficient integrated technological spaces that can attract substantial investments, and a lack of specialized skills in advanced digital fields.
Furthermore, he addressed the issue of digitizing certain administrative services that are crucial for supporting investors and stressed the need for enhanced coordination among various stakeholders involved in promoting Morocco's digital destination. This need is particularly pressing in light of increasing international competition from countries that offer more attractive investment incentives.
To enhance Morocco's digital appeal, Lamini proposed adopting an ambitious national vision aimed at positioning the kingdom as a leading digital platform in both Africa and the Mediterranean. This vision includes the establishment of specialized international digital hubs that provide a comprehensive and motivating business environment. He also called for strengthening digital economic diplomacy to better promote Morocco to major global partners and stakeholders.
