Winners Announced at the Seventh Edition of the Moroccan Products Competition

Celebrating Excellence in Moroccan Agricultural Products

The Moroccan Products Competition, now in its seventh edition, has recognized outstanding achievements in regional Moroccan products during a ceremony held at the International Agriculture Fair in Meknes. Organized by the Agricultural Development Agency, this event underscores the continuous support provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to producer groups, aiming to enhance and value their products.

During the ceremony, an impressive total of 455 medals were awarded, comprising 134 gold, 141 silver, and 180 bronze medals. The event was presided over by Ahmed Bouari, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, alongside officials from the Agricultural Development Agency. A special innovation award was presented to the "Amine" cooperative in the Marrakech-Safi region for their organic saffron-infused argan oil, recognizing their innovative approach in product development.

Highlighting Quality and Heritage

This initiative aims to honor and promote the hard work of producer groups, shining a light on their expertise. As stated by Mahjouba Chkil, Director of Local Product Marketing Development at the Agricultural Development Agency, this year's competition featured 1,375 products from various regions across the country. Following rigorous evaluations by the judging panel, seven excellence awards were granted, which included argan oil from the "Bokhdo Akramoud" cooperative, olive oil from the "Aguersouak" cooperative, and various other high-quality products, reflecting the rich agricultural heritage of Morocco.

Since its inception in 2014, the Moroccan Products Competition has become an essential tool for promoting regional products, enhancing producer competitiveness, and supporting cooperatives in marketing their offerings to meet both national and international market demands.

In interviews with Hespress, several award winners expressed that this recognition is not merely about receiving awards; it serves as a motivating force to continue innovating and valuing the national agricultural heritage. Fatima Zahra Amine, head of the "Amine" cooperative, expressed her pride in winning the innovation award for their saffron-infused argan oil, emphasizing that this accolade provides a significant boost for the thirty female cooperators in the Essaouira province. Similarly, Mohamed Skourai, head of the "Aguersouak" cooperative, highlighted that winning the olive oil quality award is a testament to their hard work and commitment to legal standards.

As the event concluded, it was evident that the Moroccan Products Competition plays a vital role in elevating the profile of local agricultural products and fostering sustainable development within communities.
