Tragic Fire Claims Life of Seventy-Year-Old in Fes' Old Medina
The historic city of Fes was shaken on Sunday night by the tragic news of the death of a seventy-year-old man who perished in a fire that broke out in a three-story house located in the narrow alley of Darb Al-Simili. The circumstances surrounding the fire remain mysterious and are currently under investigation.
According to reports from "Telquel Arabic," the fire resulted not only in the loss of the victim's life but also caused significant material damage to the building. Fortunately, members of the civil protection service, alongside several local youths, managed to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighboring homes.
Sources have indicated that the deceased, who resided on the second floor of the house, succumbed to smoke inhalation. His lifeless body was found in one of the rooms, highlighting the tragic nature of this incident.
Authorities have launched an investigation, overseen by the relevant public prosecution, to determine the cause and circumstances of the fire. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been transported to the morgue at the El-Hassani Regional Hospital, awaiting the completion of the necessary investigative procedures.
