T2S Group Holding's IPO: A Record-Breaking Demand in Casablanca

The initial public offering (IPO) of T2S Group Holding has underscored the formidable appetite of investors for new market operations on the Casablanca Stock Exchange. This operation, valued at 1.1 billion dirhams (MMDH), generated an astonishing 48.13 billion dirhams in subscriptions, translating to demand that was nearly 44 times higher than the available offering. While institutional investors accounted for a significant portion of the requested amounts, individual investors represented nearly 99% of the total subscribers, reflecting a remarkable trend in investor behavior.

Key Highlights of the T2S IPO

The IPO of T2S has notably attracted 111,149 subscribers from 81 different nationalities. The overwhelming demand reached 48.13 billion dirhams against an offering of just 1.1 billion dirhams, resulting in a satisfaction rate of merely 2.29%. Investors submitted requests for a total of 215.8 million shares, while only 4.93 million shares were made available, showcasing the high level of interest in this inaugural IPO of the year.

A striking trend observed in this operation is the dominance of individual investors. Out of the 111,149 subscribers, 110,015 were individual investors, constituting almost 99% of the participants. These individual investors requested 88.23 million shares and received just over 3 million shares, leading to a satisfaction rate of 3.42%, which is higher than the overall average. In contrast, institutional investors, although fewer in number with only 1,134 subscribers, accounted for nearly 60% of the shares demanded.

Investor Composition and Geographic Distribution

Among individual investors, Moroccan residents were the predominant group, with 105,371 subscribers, making up nearly 95% of the total. They concentrated their requests on over 84.6 million shares. On the institutional side, while the number of institutional investors was limited to 389, they dominated in terms of volume, accounting for nearly 48% of the shares requested, albeit with a lower satisfaction rate of 1.49% compared to their non-institutional counterparts.

The regional distribution of investors revealed that Casablanca-Settat was the leading area, contributing almost 55,000 subscribers, which is roughly half of the total participants. This region alone accounted for more than 190 million shares requested, representing 88% of the total demand. The data also reflects a robust international interest, with subscribers from 81 different nationalities participating in the IPO, although Moroccan investors comprised the vast majority at approximately 99%.

The analysis further highlights that private-sector employees emerged as the largest group among individual investors, surpassing 43,000 subscribers, followed by students and public sector employees. The high engagement in this IPO signifies a positive outlook for future market operations, as the substantial subscriber base, characterized by over 111,000 participants from diverse backgrounds, sends a strong signal about the ongoing interest in equity offerings in Morocco.
