Switzerland's Support for Morocco's Autonomy Initiative
During a recent working visit to Bern, Mr. Ignazio Cassis, the Federal Councillor and Vice-President of the Swiss Confederation, along with Mr. Nasser Bourita, Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, articulated a joint position regarding the Sahara region. In a collaborative statement, Switzerland expressed its endorsement of Security Council Resolution 2797, highlighting that the proposal for genuine autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty could present a viable solution to the ongoing regional dispute.
