Slovenian Referee Team Assigned for Morocco vs Brazil Clash

FIFA Names Slovenian Officials for Morocco-Brazil Match

The FIFA organization has officially announced the officiating team for the highly anticipated match between Morocco and Brazil, scheduled for Saturday, June 13, in New Jersey. This encounter will mark the debut of the Moroccan national team, known as the Lions of the Atlas, in the 2026 World Cup.

Leading the officiating team is experienced Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić, who is 46 years old and renowned for his extensive background in officiating high-stakes matches. He will be assisted by his fellow countrymen Tomaž Klančnik and Andraž Kovačič. As of now, the identity of the video assistant referee (VAR) has yet to be disclosed by FIFA.

Vinčić has a solid reputation on the European football scene, having officiated several significant matches, including the UEFA Champions League quarter-final on April 15, where he oversaw the thrilling contest between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, which ended with a 4-3 victory for the German side. Additionally, he was in charge during the decisive World Cup playoff between Sweden and Poland, a match that saw Sweden triumph with a score of 3-2.
