Significant Political Shift: Prominent Members of the National Rally of Independents Announce Retirement

Major Resignation from the National Rally of Independents

The National Rally of Independents (RNI) party has experienced a notable political shift following the announcement of retirement from political and electoral activities by several prominent local officials and elected representatives in the Souissi district of Rabat. This decision raises numerous questions regarding the underlying motives and potential repercussions for the local political landscape.

This announcement was made through a joint statement signed by eight party officials and elected members, who indicated that their decision stemmed from "extensive discussions, careful study, and an objective assessment of years of struggle, fieldwork, and community engagement." They declared the end of their political and electoral affiliation with the RNI.

Among the signatories are Adil Al-Atrassi, President of the Souissi District Council and a municipal advisor, Fatiha Al-Moudani, Mayor of Rabat and a municipal advisor, as well as Aisha Waya, Deputy President of the district, Jalal Al-Atrassi, Vice President, Idris Karakcho, Head of a committee and municipal advisor, Sidi Mohammed Al-Atrassi, Secretary of the council, Bensif Aqal, Head of a committee and municipal advisor, and Chaibia Al-Atrassi, Deputy Secretary of the council and municipal advisor.

The signatories explained that the decision to retire was "painful and difficult," but was necessitated by "objective considerations that hindered the effective performance of party, political, and electoral responsibilities under the current circumstances," without revealing further details about these considerations.

Despite their announcement to leave party and electoral work, the individuals involved affirmed their commitment to continue serving the community and defending its interests for the remainder of the current electoral term, emphasizing their loyalty to the commitments they made to the residents of the Souissi district.

This development occurs amid a delicate political climate leading up to the upcoming electoral events, making these collective resignations and political retirements of several prominent party figures in Rabat a significant event that could impact local political and organizational balances in the near future.
