The Film Production Support Committee has unveiled substantial financial allocations aimed at benefiting numerous Moroccan producers and directors for the first session of 2026. The funding granted for major feature film projects amounts to millions of dirhams, indicating a continuous trend of public investment in the sector.
According to a statement from the Moroccan Cinematic Center, the largest share of support was dedicated to feature films. The project “LA PUNITION” directed by Ismail Faroukhi received 3.9 million dirhams, followed closely by “LES OISEAUX DU CIMETIÈRE” by Maidan El Ghazwani, which secured 3.5 million dirhams. Furthermore, four other projects were awarded 3 million dirhams each, showcasing the committee's focus on supporting major cinematic productions.
This financial backing also extended to other documentary and cinematic projects, with the film “ROUICHA” receiving 1 million dirhams, and “قبور بلا شواهد” (Graves Without Markers) obtaining 800,000 dirhams. Several short films benefited from support reaching up to 180,000 dirhams each, reflecting an effort to broaden the base of beneficiaries to include various types of productions.
Additionally, the committee allocated funds specifically for screenplay development, amounting to 80,000 dirhams for several feature film projects, along with 50,000 dirhams designated for rewriting certain scripts. This initiative aims to enhance and refine the quality of cinematic texts.
In relation to documentaries focused on the Saharan region, the support values ranged from 850,000 to 980,000 dirhams, highlighting a special interest in productions that emphasize national cultural identity.
