Rawnak 2026: A Cultural Extravaganza in Marrakesh
The Business Chef Club of the National University of Trade and Management in Marrakesh, Morocco, recently orchestrated a remarkable cultural event known as Rawnak 2026, which saw the participation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Oregon as an official guest. This event was graced by the presence of Le Kim Quy, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Morocco, along with nearly 300 attendees, comprising members of the diplomatic corps, parliament representatives, local government officials, business leaders, artists, educators, and students from Marrakesh.
Rawnak 2026 served as a significant platform to celebrate and showcase Vietnamese culture through art, music, and culinary delights. The timing of this year’s event is particularly poignant, as it coincides with the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Morocco, commemorating a relationship that began on March 27, 1961. This milestone adds an extra layer of significance to the festivities, making it a cherished occasion for both nations.
A Fusion of Arts and Traditions
The Vietnamese cultural space at the event attracted a diverse array of Moroccan and international visitors, featuring exhibitions of traditional handicrafts, vibrant imagery depicting Vietnam and its people, as well as engaging interactive activities that fostered a lively cultural exchange. Among the highlights were two exceptional performances that captivated both local and international audiences: a stunning display of the Ao Dai, Vietnam’s traditional costume, presented by Vietnamese students, embassy staff, and several Moroccan models, as well as an impressive demonstration of traditional Vietnamese martial arts set to traditional music, performed by martial artists, including world champions from the Shaolin Giao Long martial arts association in Morocco.
Moreover, the event prominently featured Vietnamese cuisine and music, which played a crucial role in bridging cultural gaps and fostering connections between Vietnam and the Moroccan friends present. The participation in Rawnak 2026 marks the beginning of a series of activities celebrating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Morocco, reflecting the embassy's commitment to bringing Vietnamese culture closer to the people in Morocco's major cities, particularly focusing on the younger generation, who are the future custodians of Vietnamese-Moroccan friendship.
