Search Operation Ends Successfully for Missing Influencer
Rachel Kerr, a 31-year-old British influencer known on social media as Rachel Gourlay, has been located safe after a five-day search in Morocco. Her disappearance, which began on April 25 when she checked out of the Caribbean Village resort in Agadir, sparked significant concern among her family and authorities after they lost contact with her. Initially, her phone remained off, leaving her loved ones alarmed and prompting them to alert local authorities when they could not reach her.
Kerr, originally from Alloa, Scotland, had traveled to Morocco for what was intended to be a routine work trip. However, the situation escalated when her family reported her missing, leading to a coordinated search operation. Claire Hill, Kerr’s cousin, expressed the family’s deep concern in a Facebook post, highlighting that such behavior was “totally unusual” for her, and appealed to the public for any information that might lead to her whereabouts. The authorities, including a spokesperson from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), confirmed they were providing assistance to Kerr’s family during this distressing time.
Alexis Shaw, a friend of Kerr, provided additional context surrounding her disappearance, noting that Kerr had run out of money just a day before she was last seen outside the Smart nightclub in Morocco around 5 AM. Shaw indicated that Kerr had initially planned to return home two weeks prior to her disappearance but had extended her stay while continuing to share updates on social media from various locations in Morocco.
Fortunately, as reported by the BBC, Kerr was found alive on April 30 and is now in the care of her brother, described as “safe and sound” by her family. This positive outcome brings relief to her loved ones and highlights the importance of community vigilance and support in times of crisis.
