Police Operation Leads to Major Drug Bust in Algeria

In a remarkable operation last week, the mobile judicial police unit of the Sidi Bel Abbes Security Directorate successfully apprehended an individual linked to an organized criminal network. This suspect was found in possession of a significant haul of 57 kilograms of processed cannabis, which had reportedly originated from Morocco.

According to a statement from the Sidi Bel Abbes police, the operation was the result of meticulous field investigations conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office. The proactive measures taken by the police have effectively disrupted the illegal activities of this organized network that operates across Algeria's western borders. Furthermore, the operation led to the recovery of a passenger vehicle that was utilized to transport the illicit drugs.

The arrested suspect has since been presented before the public prosecutor at the Sidi Bel Abbes court, as per the source's report.

In a related note, an initial report indicated that 30 individuals were injured in a traffic accident in the Annaba province. The civil protection services have been active in responding to such emergencies.

Additionally, the National Meteorological Office issued a special bulletin warning of impending rainfall, further emphasizing the importance of staying informed about weather conditions.
