Pentagon Denies Terrorism Link in Disappearance of Two Soldiers in Morocco

Pentagon Clarifies Situation Regarding Missing American Soldiers

The Pentagon has officially denied any connection between the disappearance of two American soldiers in Morocco and terrorism. In a recent statement, the Department of Defense emphasized that the circumstances surrounding the soldiers' disappearance are not linked to any terrorist activities, suggesting that it is likely they may have fallen into the ocean.

This incident was initially reported by the Moroccan News Agency, which cited sources within the Moroccan Armed Forces indicating that the two American soldiers had gone missing during the "African Lion 2026" exercise, specifically near a rocky outcrop at Cape Drâa in the region of Tan-Tan. The U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) also confirmed that the soldiers were participating in the exercise and that search operations are currently underway in the land, air, and sea, involving American and Moroccan forces as well as additional troops from the exercise command. The situation remains under investigation.
