Celebrating Excellence in Olive Oil Production

On April 27, 2026, during the 18th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM), a significant event unfolded with the announcement of the 16th edition of the national competition aimed at selecting the finest quality of extra virgin olive oil for the agricultural campaign of 2025/2026. The event was presided over by Mr. Ahmed El Bouari, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, alongside the Governor of the Meknès prefecture and the President of the SIAM Association. This competition serves as a testament to the Ministry's commitment to enhancing the quality of agricultural products, particularly olive oil, which is of paramount importance to the region.

Organized in collaboration with the olive oil sector association (INTERPROLIVE), this competition underscores the dedication to elevating agricultural product quality and enhancing the competitiveness of the olive oil industry. The initiative encourages producers to adopt best practices in production, processing, and marketing, aligning with both national and international quality standards. The competition welcomed all olive oil producers across Morocco, adhering to regulations established by the International Olive Council (IOC). This year, the competition saw participation from 77 candidates representing five regions.

Results and Winners of the Competition

A total of twelve olive oils from three regions received awards, categorized into four homogeneous groups based on their fruitiness: intense green fruitiness, medium green fruitiness, light green fruitiness, and ripe fruitiness. In each category, three prizes were awarded (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place). The winners by category are as follows:

Intense Green Fruitiness:
1st Place: SOCIETE OLIVEINVEST (Fès-Meknès)
2nd Place: SOCIETE CHANIA (Fès-Meknès)
3rd Place: SOCIETE OLEA CAPITAL (Fès-Meknès)

Medium Green Fruitiness:
1st Place: SOCIETE D’EXPLOITATION DE L’OLIVE (Marrakech-Safi)
2nd Place: SOCIETE OLIVE OIL CARTEL (Marrakech-Safi)
3rd Place: MAASRAT BENMALLOUK (Marrakech-Safi)

Light Green Fruitiness:
1st Place: MAASRA BRAHIM ZNIBER (Fès-Meknès)
2nd Place: GIE OUED ZAT (Marrakech-Safi)
3rd Place: MONSIEUR STEPHANE LAURENT (Marrakech-Safi)

Ripe Fruitiness:
1st Place: GIE ZOUYOUT AIT ATTAB (Béni Mellal-Khénifra)
2nd Place: SOCIETE ZITOUN DE MARRAKECH (Marrakech-Safi)
3rd Place: SOCIETE OLICO SA (Marrakech-Safi)

This competition not only celebrates the best olive oils but also promotes a culture of quality and excellence within the agricultural sector in Morocco, fostering a spirit of competition that encourages innovation and improvement among producers.
