Moroccan U16 Boys' Tennis Team Achieves Historic Victory

The Moroccan under-16 boys’ national tennis team has showcased an extraordinary level of skill and perseverance by clinching the title at the African Team Championships, which took place in Polokwane, South Africa. This significant victory not only highlights their athletic prowess but also guarantees their qualification for the prestigious World Championship. Throughout the tournament, the Moroccan team maintained an impeccable record, defeating formidable opponents including Kenya, Egypt, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Algeria. This commendable performance has been officially recognized by the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation, which expressed pride in the team's achievements.

Continued Success for Moroccan Tennis

In addition to the boys' success, the Moroccan girls' national team also made headlines by finishing as runners-up in the same tournament. Their journey included impressive victories over teams from Algeria, Togo, Egypt, and South Africa, though they ultimately faced defeat in the final against Tunisia. The boys’ team, composed of talented players Reda El Aouni, Mehdi Laabi, and Samy Iraqui, along with the girls’ team featuring Yasmine Douyeb, Lara Faraj, and Hind Hannaoui, were guided by their coaches, Messrs. Mehdi Tahiri and Mohamed El Rhaba. Following this team event, the Moroccan delegation will continue to compete in the African Under-16 Individual Championships scheduled from July 27 to July 30, further showcasing the depth of talent in Moroccan tennis.
