Increasing Concerns Over Zionist Encroachment in Morocco
Several Moroccan organizations have raised serious alarms regarding the escalating Zionist infiltration within the country, as normalization scandals intensify to alarming levels. Reports indicate a trend of land seizures from citizens, the transformation of public spaces into places of worship for Jewish communities, and the demolition of mosques and UNESCO-listed archaeological sites, all part of a broader initiative to convert Morocco into a Zionist settlement. In this context, the National Working Group for Palestine, which comprises numerous anti-normalization entities, issued a statement warning of the rapid pace of normalization between the Moroccan regime and Zionist interests. The group emphasized that "the criminality and ambitions of the Zionists know no bounds in Morocco and the entire region," asserting that "we have no option but to terminate normalization efforts." They pointed to recent events in Marrakech, expressing outrage over gatherings of "Zionist Jews" conducting what they described as strange rituals at Bab Doukkala and in front of the city walls of Marrakech, reminiscent of practices at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
The group condemned these actions vehemently, criticizing the audacity of the Zionists in challenging the sanctities of Muslims not only at Al-Aqsa Mosque but within Morocco itself, which they see as a blatant affront to the feelings of the Moroccan populace. They denounced the Moroccan authorities' negligence regarding the sovereignty of the country. The same group stressed that the normalization of relations by the official regime with what they termed a criminal entity poses a genuine threat to the security of Moroccans, urging swift action to halt this trajectory and terminate all forms of relations with the Zionist enemy.
Threat to Sovereignty and Identity
In a parallel statement, the Moroccan Observatory Against Normalization asserted that Zionist forces have escalated their efforts to occupy Morocco, indicating that the current situation transcends mere cultural or media infiltration. Instead, it is a comprehensive project aimed at reshaping consciousness, symbols, and spaces, paving the way for deeper transformations that threaten the very essence of the nation. The observatory elaborated that when national symbols are targeted, meanings are rewritten, and symbolic spaces are redrawn, it signifies a path that extends beyond politics into existential realms, akin to what has transpired in occupied Palestine. They cautioned that the Zionist threat, as demonstrated by these accumulating incidents, is neither a temporary nor limited danger; rather, it is a strategic peril that affects sovereignty, identity, and continuity. This necessitates a collective, vigilant awareness and a responsible national stance that prioritizes the interests of Morocco above all else, reminding citizens that nations are not always occupied by armies, but may also be gradually reconfigured until they awaken to a reality not of their choosing.
