Mexican Boxers Achieve Early Victories in Brazil

The Mexican Olympic boxing team, competing in the elite category, has made an impressive start at the World Boxing Elite Championship held from April 20 to 26 in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. The team secured three significant victories during the initial round of the tournament, showcasing their skill and determination on an international stage.

Guadalupe Sherlyn Torres Tavares emerged victorious against Khadija Sifr from Morocco in the women's 57 kg division. She won the match by unanimous decision, with judges scoring the bout 29:28, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, and 30:27, successfully earning her place in the quarterfinals.
