CASA of Central Oregon Hosts Unforgettable Fundraising Gala

CASA of Central Oregon is excited to announce its highly anticipated annual event, the Casablanca: A Masquerade Gala, scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026. This enchanting evening will take place from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Central Oregon, located in Bend. The gala serves not just as a celebration but as a vital fundraising initiative aimed at supporting advocacy for children in foster care throughout Central Oregon. The goal is to ensure that each child has access to a consistent and caring adult presence in their lives, which is crucial for their development and stability.

Attendees of the gala can look forward to an evening filled with elegance and excitement. Guests will be treated to champagne and an array of passed appetizers, a hosted bar, and a delectable plated dinner. The program will feature both live and silent auctions, a chance to win local restaurant gift cards, a wine wall, and a fun dessert dash, all expertly emceed by Emily Kirk, a well-known anchor from Central Oregon Daily News. Executive Director Heather Dion emphasizes the significance of this event, stating, "Casablanca is not only a celebration, but a powerful reminder of what our community can accomplish together. With the support of partners like EC Electric and our incredible donors, we are able to continue showing up for children who need stability, advocacy, and hope."

All funds raised during the gala will directly benefit the recruitment and training of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs), who are dedicated volunteers advocating for children in foster care. Notably, last year, 489 children experienced foster care in Central Oregon, and approximately 77 of those children still require a committed CASA to support them. To make a difference in these children's lives, community members can participate in the gala by attending, becoming sponsors, volunteering, or contributing items for the auction. Donations of unique experiences and services will be accepted until May 1, offering an opportunity for local businesses and individuals to get involved.

For further details, to purchase tickets, or to learn how to contribute to this meaningful cause, please visit the CASA of Central Oregon's website at casaofcentraloregon.org/casablanca or contact them directly at 541-389-1618. Your support can help ensure that every child in foster care has a voice and a champion in their corner.
