Hilton's Ambitious Expansion Plan: 15 New Hotels Set to Open in Morocco

Hilton Worldwide has unveiled an ambitious plan to significantly enhance its presence in Morocco by announcing the opening of 15 new hotels over the coming years. This strategic move will elevate Hilton's total number of hotel properties in the kingdom to 25, reflecting the company's commitment to invigorating the local tourism sector and generating new employment opportunities.

According to a press release from the company, these upcoming projects are expected to create over 2,000 local job opportunities. The expansion will encompass the launch and growth of ten distinct hotel brands as part of a broader strategy aimed at bolstering Morocco's appeal as a regional and international tourist destination.

The new agreements will introduce the "Tapestry Collection by Hilton" brand to Morocco for the first time, while also continuing to expand existing brands such as "Curio Collection," "DoubleTree," and "Hilton Garden Inn." This expansion follows the recent opening of the Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé, which marks the entry of Hilton's luxury brand into Morocco, situated within the iconic Mohammed VI Tower.

Chris Nassetta, the CEO of Hilton, described Morocco as a "strategic market" with promising growth potential, backed by increasing visitor numbers and expanding tourism opportunities in major cities and emerging destinations. Among the announced projects, the company plans to launch hotels under the "Tapestry Collection" brand in both Casablanca and Chefchaouen by 2028, along with a new establishment under the "Curio Collection" brand in Marrakech by 2029. Additionally, the company aims to develop coastal projects in Nador and Tetouan.

Currently, Hilton operates 12 hotels in Morocco, and with this new expansion plan, the company seeks to accelerate its growth in the luxury, upscale, and midscale hotel segments.
