Exploring Business Opportunities: Gipuzkoa Chamber and Companies Embark on Strategic Mission to Morocco

In a significant move to explore new business avenues, the Chamber of Gipuzkoa and the Provincial Council have initiated a strategic mission to Morocco, involving twenty companies from the region. This mission, which commenced yesterday and will continue until Thursday, aims to uncover opportunities for business and collaboration amidst the backdrop of shifting markets following the U.S. tariff war. The focus of this journey is on the economically vital regions of Casablanca and Tangier-Kenitra, recognized as two of the key industrial powerhouses in North Africa.

The sectors of automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, logistics, and infrastructure are of particular interest, presenting promising opportunities for the businesses of Gipuzkoa, both in terms of investment and industrial cooperation, as emphasized by the two organizing entities. The Chamber and the Provincial Council highlight that Morocco has established itself in recent years as a "strategic" market in North Africa, showcasing robust industrial growth and a crucial geographical position that serves as a bridge between Europe and Africa.

The delegation participating in this mission includes a diverse group of companies, such as Talleres Arreche, Silam, Ibarmia, Algeposa, Euskabea, Gurelan, Cauchopren, Likale, Elay, Echemar, Iraupen, Arina, Elmubas, Oilgear, Safeloc, Ulma Handling, Erlo, Jamai, Fagor Arrasate, and Andrés Eizaguirre. These companies span various sectors, prominently featuring firms from the multi-sectorial and automotive industries, along with others tied to metallurgy, aerospace, and industrial subcontracting.

The delegation from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa comprises Unai Andueza, the Economic Promotion and Strategic Projects Deputy, and Amaia Arregi, the General Director of Economic Promotion. From the Chamber of Gipuzkoa, the team includes its president, Mauri Arregui, the director, Javier Zubia, as well as Javier Ayala, Iñigo Usandizaga, and Gorka Goikoetxea from the internationalization team. This mission is set to implement a work agenda aimed at strengthening the international presence of Gipuzkoan companies and identifying new opportunities for collaboration and business development.
